10. William and Mary Chest

The original chests of this era were about six feet tall, but this one is only about four feet to fit into our modern day decor. It has hand turned trumpet legs and drops. The base is strengthened by Ess curved diagonal stretchers with a corresponding turned centerpiece. The drawers are dovetailed and velvet lined and have Birdseye Maple fronts. The carcase is of Cherry. There is a steamed bent cockbead around the base of the apron.
